10 Day You-Challenge; 2 Songs

Two.
You Got Me (live)-Jill Scott & The Roots
Gorgeous song, and I can play it over and over again. Jilly from Philly sounds amazing on this track and The Roots are a class apart in their own genre. As much as I love Erykah Badu, I much prefer Jill Scott in this version than the original. You got me baby..

 One.
Is this love?- Bob Marley
If there ever was a song that can immediately make me smile and lift me up, it’s this one. Bob always works his magic on me anyway, but this one takes me back, way back to my childhood. I grew up with Bob’s music and I will die with it. The man was a genius and he is always on my playlist. ‚̧

There you have it, my two favorite songs in the world.

What are yours?

Check back tomorrow for my last post in the 10 Day You-Challenge! ūüôā

10 Day You-Challenge; 3 Films

So today is probably one of my favorite subjects; Movies! I can’t believe I only get to pick three when I have so many I’d like to share with you all. So I’ll just stick with the ones that have made the most impact on me in my life so far. A great movie makes me want to watch it over and over again, makes me feel like I’m in it and most importantly, makes me feel things I’ve never felt before, or makes me feel them much more powerful. So let’s go!

Three.
Tootsie; okay so this might not qualify as a ‘great’ movie, but I played this VHS until it couldn’t be played anymore when I was little. I think it had something to do with having a major crush on Jessica Lange.. The movie is hilarious and Dustin Hoffman plays the role very convincingly.

Two.
Indiana Jones; the first three. I cannot tell how important Indiana Jones was for me when I growing up but he was everything I always wanted to be (and never became). A history-teacher by day, kick-ass¬†archaeologist¬†at night, what’s not to love? Harrison Ford has got to be my favorite actor of all time. Just the theme-song¬†alone gets me going.

One.
Into the Wild; this is the one movie that has changed my entire life. Mainly because I never thought I would come across a story (a true one at that) that could word and display my feelings so well. Here is a guy who did exactly all the things I ever wanted to do in my life, minus the getting stuck in the Alaskan wilderness and dying.  I swear that this movie chokes me up every time I see it.

Those are my favorite 3, however my list is extremely long and is constantly updated with new films.

Thanks for checking!

10 Day You-Challenge; Four Books

Four.
Under the Dome-Stephen King; He has to be one of my favorite authors and pretty much all of his stories are great but Under the Dome is just insane.

Three.
The Clan of The Cave Bear series- Jean M. Auel; my mom actually got me reading this when I was only around 12 or so. There’s in total now like 6 books but the first book of the series has to be my favorite.

Two.
Harry Potter- J.K. Rowling; predictable but I thoroughly enjoy all the books, especially the later ones.

One.
The Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy-Douglas Adams. ¬†Don’t really have a lot to this one, if you’ve been around my blog for a while, you’ll be able to tell I am quite crazy about Space. So this really shouldn’t come as a big surprise lol ;).

That was it again for today! Check back again tomorrow for Three Films :D.

Thanks for reading.

10 Day You-Challenge; 5 foods

Five.
Spicy shrimp fried rice; this is a meal that S came up with one day and it HAS to be in my top 5 fave foods.

Four.
Belgian fries in a pointy bag with mayo!

Three.
Roti with chicken-filet; Surinamese Hindustani-dish which is one my fave childhood dishes.

Two.
This dish I hardly ever have cause the only person that can make it the best, is my mom.

One.
My absolute favorite dish in the world is Nasi Rames Special. This is an Indonesian dish and does not beat anything I’ve ever had in my life.

Check back tomorrow for Four Books!

Thanks for reading and if you like what you see, grab the rss feed or begin following me :D!

10 Day You-Challenge; 6 places

Six.
Havana, Cuba. Need I say more? Warmth, great music, beautiful cars and scenery!!

Five.

Antelope Canyon, USA

Four.
The Seychelles; good lord man, such perfection!

Three.
My home country of Suriname; ¬†I love this country with all my heart and even though I haven’t been there since I was 12, I still miss it every day. The week I spent there in the Amazone-jungle was AMAZING, and I recommend anybody to go and visit this still unspoiled country.

Two.
Indonesia; my roots also lie here even though I’ve never had the chance to go. My dad is from Surabaya but grew up in Suriname. I’d love to go see it.

 One.
Space!! Talk about the impossible dream.

Check back tomorrow for my five foods!!

Thanks for reading :).

10 Day You-Challenge; 7 Wants

Seven.
A decent working computer would be nice. I’ve been leaning towards a Lenovo Aio :D. I’d like some new gadgets as I had to give up some which sucked.

Six.
To continue with the materialistic things; a big LED 3D screen. I know, I feel bad for wanting all that!

Five.
Learn how to stargaze with a telescope; I am really into planets, stars, constellations, nebulas and such so I want to become more professional when it comes to that. A big want is to be able to photograph all that I will be able to see with the telescope. Hopefully by the end of next month I’ll have my very own telescope!

Four.
Learn fluent Bulgarian; very necessary for a foreigner in Bulgaria! So many people want to talk to me and I hate not being able to understand them or hold a conversation! It’s getting seriously frustrating :(.

(Prim mountains, Bulgaria. So gorgeous..)

Three.
Two Samoyeds and a husky please, if you will! I am a big big dog-lover and it’s so incredibly hard for me to be without any kind of pet. I’ve said countless times how much I love Sammies, and I just pretty much always wanted a Siberian husky but never had one.
Mostly a dog for me means a best friend that I can take on long walks and hikes. They give so much without limit.

(hehe, cutie patooties)

Two.
A stress-free, fun , filled with positive energy, kind of life. Of course, this is never going to be something that can come true completely. There will always be some amount of stress but hey, it’s a want so!

One.
To be completely comfortable with myself and to accept myself as the awesome kick-ass person I am. I’d like to learn to forgive myself ¬†for all the abuse I’ve put myself through during all the years.
This is going to take some serious work! Work in progress…..

10 Day You-Challenge; 8 fears

Eight.
Spiders and other crawly things; if it has more than 4 legs, chances are I won’t like it very much. Logic dictates that they are more scared of me than I of them, and that’s all good and well but I still think they’re all EVIL.

Seven.
Speaking in front of a big audience; I don’t like to have all the attention on me at any given time. I am better one on one.

Six.
Bad grammar and spelling; this might be more of an annoyance than an actual fear but I fear for our youngest generation.

Five.
Losing control; I am a very calm person on the outside but on the inside a whole world of emotions is stirring. This is why I don’t like confrontations or arguments. Mostly because if you keep piling on crap, I will go off like a nuclear bomb. Thus I am afraid of losing control of my perfect temperament. I don’t quite turn green like the Hulk but it’s still bad enough.

Four.
Negativity; I am quite an empath and even though I most of the time can hold my own, sometimes it happens that someone drains my energy with their own negative BS. And that can just really ruin a perfectly good day.

Three.
Being hurt by others; I’ve been hurt more than I care to remember by so-called friends and family that I really don’t let people close enough to be able to do it again. Every now and again, someone does slip through the cracks though and I just anticipate being dissapointed or hurt. Not the best way to live, but in that way I can be quite bitter.

Two.
2012; No I am not afraid of 2012 turning out to be a Doomsday-scenario. In all honesty, I am afraid that absolutely nothing will happen. I am one of those people who truly believe a change needs to come, and will come. I don’t want the world to end in the physical sense but I want it to end the way it is now. No more greed, no more war, no more children and people dying because they can’t afford to eat. I want us all to ascend to a higher dimension, and if you think I am a fruity floater because of it, I really don’t care. ¬†One day you will wake up and see what I see.

One.
That my loved ones don’t know how precious they truly are to me and I will die before I get a chance to let them know that.

10 Day-You Challenge; day 2

Nine.
Traveling and Nature; I love wandering around the world exploring one country at a time. I haven’t been too nearly as many countries as I’d like to and especially now I feel like I have found my spot, so from now on it’ll just be vacationing!

Eight.
Playing video games; ¬†ever since I was a little kid, I’ve loved arcade-games but my parents usually didn’t give me money to play so I’d just watch others and play the demo. Now if I want something I just buy it!

Seven.
The Supernatural; anything mystical, scary ¬†or spiritual. I’ve always been into Vampires when they were still cool (e.g. Twilight..yuck!!). I count myself as a spiritual person and believe that there’s more on this earthly plane than just us humans. Something that has been proved to me time and time again.

Six.
Snow; fresh fallen snow always puts a smile on my face. The way it blankets the entire world under a white cover is beautiful. My favorite thing to do then, is to take my dogs (if I have any) out for a long walk. The best thing is to see their paw prints on fresh snow. That and the sound it makes when you walk! Chrispy!!! I love anything Nordic anyways, Finland, Sweden, Norway are all countries that I love to visit.

Five.
Sun; as much as I love snow, I possibly like the sun even more. I’ve learned that I really need sunny weather in order to feel good. When I don’t I get sulky and depressed. It doesn’t matter whether it’s sun in the winter-time or summer-time. Of course, occasionally I love a good rainstorm, just not 365 days out of the year. Extreme weather is something that intrigues me as well and living here in the mountains of Bulgaria, we get to see that plenty so far!

Four.
Music; I love all sorts of music, but mostly the kind that moves me deeply.

Three.
Samoyeds; I LOVE LOVE these dogs. They are the best dog-breed in my opinion, loving, caring, clown-like and extremely intelligent. The best dog I ever had was a Sammy :).

Two.
Movies; I am a big movie-buff and I watch for the most part anything except for chick-flicks. Trailers alone can get me really happy and going to the movies is something I try to do on a frequent basis.

One.
My loved ones, of course. The people that have come and gone in my life who impacted me, are always in my heart.

10 Day You Challenge

I stumbled across this 10 Day You Challenge through Daily Visual Inspiration and decided to give it a shot. I am usually not much for talking a lot about myself so this will be the perfect opportunity to open up more.

10. My house is my domain; I have a hard time letting people into my own little nest unless I really know and trust you very well. Definitely trying to work on this!

9. I am a bit of a Conspiracy Theorist; and like to get to the bottom of things. You could call me a detective of some sorts. It’s very hard to keep secrets from me.

8. Nature is my drug of choice; without it I feel very confined and depressed. I need to have it close at all times. Which is one of the reasons I am moving to Bulgaria!

7. Even though I am Dutch, I don’t feel Dutch at all. The Netherlands is the last place on earth where’d I’d want to be.

6. Love LOVE videogames, especially RPG. But even though I love them, I very rarely finish them! I recently finished 3 games though (big grin).

5. Feel like I don’t belong in this day and age or planet for that matter. Constantly looking for that je ne sais quoi.

4. I really want to have my own huge salt water aquarium, but then I also want about 10 Sammies (dog breed) to go sledding and skijoring with.

3. I am an extremely private and complicated person. It takes me a very long time to open up and just because I act happy doesn’t mean I am.

2. Every now and again I need to retreat and not have anybody around me for a very long time.

1. I have absolutely no idea what I am doing in this life! ūüėČ
